Stackelbeck bravely dives deeper than newspaper headlines to delivery frightening truths to American people as our truest terrorist threats become unveiled. Not only does the author provide basic understandings of jihadist terminology, religious beliefs of the Islam, and the Muslim culture, but key players in this practice are discussed in detail. Throughout this book, numerous examples of terrorism are cited that occurred right on American soil.
Large scale terrorist operations similar to the twin tower destruction are no longer necessary as the jihadist look to cripple American by death due to cuts. Stackelbeck doesnt sugar coat any of the facts, many of which he gained by personal encounters, Terrorist compound visits, and interviews with some of the most connect Al-queda associates.

Some politicians will lead the American people to believe the Terrorism problem has been blown out of proportion in an attempt to strengthen our elite military to the extreme. Some will even coin Stackelbeck an alarmist. While librals pray for world peace and seek resolution through endless discussions with country leaders, we must look to elminate the problem by policy reformation and not hesistate to launch our military into action. Stackelbeck discusses how the failures to rise to such a task have already weakened our countries image in past and have led to Terrorist, such as bin Laden, calling the United States a "paper tiger.
Stackelbeck argues that our nation's security has indeed weakened. Therefore, this message must get delivered to the stakeholders in our Nations security, which includes every informed American, so that we can pick up on the many visible signs and red flags that exist right before our eyes. Please read this book, it will open your eyes as it did to me. Erick Stakeleck has laid out many of the most important issues that Americans need to know and face about Islam's invasion of America.
As an American who has researched Islam in all 50 states in this country, and in the Middle East for over two decades, I congratulate Stakelbeck for his courageous and inspiring voice of truth, urgency and call for critical action. He understands radical Islam and the "dhimmi" status that our citizens are being led into through the spread of compromise with multiculturalism and Islamic Shari'a law across every facet of the liberties of our Republic. This is not a book to say that I loved it. The information offered in the book is necessary if you want to know what the "terribles" are doing in this world.
We need to be alert and how many people actually know what is going on or even care until it is too late.
Keep your lamps trimmed and burning. The Second Coming is not far away. One person found this helpful. Stickleback provides a convincing, convicting narrative documenting in explicit detail how the U. Will we follow Europe into this nightmare? Awesome read, Stakelbeck has the background and experience that validates his writing. He shows us the danger within our Country and it will make you think. His Book the Muslim Brotherhood Americas next threat, is much better as he provides how are Government is ignoring the threat and how our enemy is working within our Administration.
Both books an eye opener. Well researched and written. You'll get the facts the U. Government doesn't want you to know. This book will open your eyes to the global Islamic Extremist movement that threatens the world.

Put together with other writings re: Islam, a full picture is drawn which should convince those of us who really appreciate living in a liberal democracy, who are not interested in a 'master-slave' rule, 'The Terrorist Next Door' will make all of us aware of how the tentacles of Islamic ideology has worked its way into areas such as cooperation by Hugo Chavez and other Latin American dictators.
Lest one believes that this multi-century movement has changed over time, the following quote from the book may serve to change one's mind: In writing about the Muslim Brotherhood's strategic memorandum,"it directs members to gain 'mastery of the art of coalitions', the 'art of absorption', and the 'principals of cooperation'". In other words, I would say 'seduce our enemies. For this country not to recognize that basic methodology, which we employ against our enemies, is pretty damn stupid. So read and learn, open your eyes, and leave political correctness behind.

Facts, not opinion, make this a must read for any realist in a society filled with guilt-ridden politically correct liberals with the "Helsinki Syndrome". I was so liberated from American naivety and angered by the lies from our propaganda machine, also known as our mainstream media, as I read on. I couldn't believe I haven't heard about many of the meticulously researched facts that should be front page news but are hidden in plain sight.
The writer infuses wit and intelligent prose to keep the Facts, not opinion, make this a must read for any realist in a society filled with guilt-ridden politically correct liberals with the "Helsinki Syndrome". The writer infuses wit and intelligent prose to keep the reader turning the page for more knowledge of scary truths governments try so hard to hide so not to offend the entire religion of Islam. Surely the reader is aware that generalization of a group based on a few bad apples is dangerous. The reader will find however frightening, that there are more than a few bad apples.
Five stars for challenging the status quo and digging up facts through one on one interviews, secret investigations and infiltration of groups right here all over America. Very informative and broad subject matter! Can't wait for the next book by Stakelbeck! Oct 09, Dirk Pratt rated it it was amazing Shelves: Stakelbeck has certainly a wealth of knowledge the can probably put into several more books.
The words, 'Islam is a religion of peace' is debunked and it is shown in a variety of ways in Stakelbeck's book. Not only does he point out to the various locations of new mega-Mosques such as in Murfreesboro, TN and even in Alaska, but also how these mega-Mosques are training grounds for terrorists. Stakelbeck also sheds light on the ultimate goal of these terrorists, and it certainly is not pretty. His journalistic style is appealing as he goes into the compounds and interviews jihadists and some well-known terrorists to get to the bottom of the ideology and to explain to Westerners how weak and how our pandering to radical Islam will eventually lead not only to the Europe's but our own demise.
Sep 12, Nancy rated it did not like it. Wished I had realized the bias of this author before picking up this book.
Propaganda does not make an interesting read. Sure, there was the Soviet Union with their nuclear-tipped ICBMs, but we had them too and aside from an unlikely all-out nuclear war between us, life was relatively carefree and safe. And even if there was a conventional ground war, it would be fought by the military somewhere in Europe. There was indeed a sense of complacency in this country not so long ago, but the events of changed everything as radical Islamists decided the battlegrounds of the future will no longer be "over there", but right here in the United States.
While the majority of Americans go about their daily lives, Erick Stakelbeck points out quite succinctly that there is a ubiquitous and growing terrorist threat within our borders that is dead set on making the events of a harbinger of what is to come Stakelbeck notes that as we approach the year anniversary of , the anti-American rhetoric of radical Islamists coming from within our borders has increased.
Large Muslim communities within the United States are spreading everywhere, even in the most unlikely locales the Deep South and Stakelbeck suggests that these communities are the likely springboards for future terrorist attacks. The author details accounts of visiting known Muslim enclaves in various parts of the country to speak directly to leaders about anti-American sentiments, jihad, Israel, etc. And while Stakelbeck was met with anticipated suspicion or avoidance from the leaders, what he saw outside these conversations was another story. One particular visit to a large Muslim market revealed a massive display of merchandise CDs, DVDs, books, shirts, posters, etc.
Such homage to the American-born "spiritual leader" suspected of organizing numerous acts of terror in the US, including the Fort Hood massacre would be expected in a place like Pakistan Yet, this is what Stakelbeck reveals, the brazen displays of hatred toward Americans and Jews accompanied by open adulation of known terrorists The author provides ample and well-sourced evidence to reveal incident-after-incident of mounting evidence that all is not well in many American Muslim communities.
To add balance and support to his work, the author interviews with both current and former jihadists who speak candidly about how Islam specifically dictates a global Islamic caliphate. Interviews, past and present history and specific references throughout the Koran are used by Stakelbeck to support his claim that the internal threat is real.

More importantly, it is the words and actions of the terrorists themselves that the author provides as evidence of their true intentions. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect is our government and our society's penchant for kowtowing to suspected terrorists and terrorist groups in an effort to avoid offending Muslims as a whole even though most terrorists ARE Muslim. The author points out the possibility that the efforts to avoid offending some may likely lead to the deaths of others. While this scare-tactic approach may turn some people off, the author provides enough factual evidence that should enlighten most that a serious problem may exist in this country or at least stir up some degree of concern.
As with most books that fall into the category of politics, this book is likely to be blindly lauded by one group and widely panned by another for no substantive reason, other than the book's topic or its title. The author's job with CBN Christian Broadcasting Network will surely raise hackles as well, but it shouldn't for two reasons: I think the author is trying to make a simple point that maybe we should take the words of these terrorists seriously and not marginalize their potential to deliver the death and misery they are promising us, because the arena of conflict is no longer confined to the Middle East.
Nov 26, Robert rated it really liked it Shelves: This was in interesting look at how the Obama administration refuses to acknowledge the ideology that drives those who hate the U. S and anyone who is not them.
The author also points out the mistakes of several other Presidents as well. However it is the latest administration that has really fallen on its face. Attempted attacks like the Times Square bombing, the "underwear bombing" on a flight over Detroit, and the attack on a Christmas-tree-lighting ceremony in Oregon were all isolated plots that failed. In The Terrorist Next Door, investigative reporter Erick Stakelbeck exposes the staggering truth about our national security: If you believe terrorism is only a problem for other countries, Stakelbeck's on-the-ground reporting will open your eyes.
He has been inside America's radical mosques, visited US-based Islamic enclaves, and learned about our enemies by going straight to the source--interviewing al-Qaeda-linked terrorists themselves.
