I ran away from everything.

Name That Book cont. Part II | Romance - from historical to contemporary | LibraryThing

You, my father, my mother. I spent six months hiding. And when I did come to fight for what I wanted—you—I stumbled at the first hurdle. I wanted you to tell me that you loved me. I wanted you to prove that you loved me. But I never proved that I love you. It gave her the strength to continue.

Not your family, not your father, nor even your brother. I know you love me. I know because you would never have sacrificed the future of your rule for me unless you loved me. I could never bind you to this life. A life where I will need to make sacrifices, where you will never be free from public scrutiny.

There will be political manipulations for our whole lives, and I would not force that on anyone—especially not you. I could never ask that of you. But through it she could see the truth in his words, the truth in his heart, and her own heart soared. Because you have made me strong enough to bear it. I will stand by you and love you and be loved in return. All you have to do is say yes. I look forward to seeing what she produces in the future. This story takes place in one day, well mostly one night and damn, does a lot happen in just twelve hours! Our two main leads go from nearly hating each other to finally seeing that they do love each other and work together to make their lives better as King and Queen.

We see that most of the stuff between them is misunderstandings, secrets, and fear. It was a nice quick read, and I can't wait to read more by this author. Mar 29, Helen rated it it was amazing. This is a fabulous debut, fast paced, sensual, a marriage that ended before it started, a marriage where the heroine was pushed into it by a domineering father and the hero who wanted what was best for his country get yourself comfortable because you are not going to want to put this one down.

The sensual spark the push and pull between these two could light up London there are a lot of secrets that have been kept and until both open up their lives cannot go forward. I really felt for both Odir and Eloise and what they had been through Eloise is so strong and caring as is Odir in his own way it took him a bit of time to learn that he could love and when he did, together they became one and love flourished.

Congrats on a fabulous debut MS Roscoe I look forward to many more from you and this is one that I highly recommend. A little escapism is always lovely. Internationally themed, this contemporary romance allows the reader to see what life is like living with a prince and it's not as romantic as it first appears. Eloise accepts an arranged marriage because she likes Odir and believes they could grow to love the other. Odir, bound by duty ignores her after their marriage and finally sends her away when he thinks she has forsaken her marriage vows.

She runs away, but now he finds her and wants her back, but she has A little escapism is always lovely. She runs away, but now he finds her and wants her back, but she has other ideas. Odir is afraid loving Eloise will weaken him and threaten his kingdom. Eloise will only be his wife again, without compromise and their rekindled passion seems doomed to fail.

I like the structure of this novel; each chapter covers an hour in their reunion, the sense of time slipping away from them increases the story's dramatic tension and makes it fast-paced. Character-driven, past tragedy and heartache are explored, making their actions more understandable. Loyalty and duty rule both their lives, everything they do is for others.

To achieve the love they both desire, they must consider what they want as individuals, and at times this seems to be unlikely. Sensual love scenes echo their poignant journey. Complex characters, both Eloise and Odir negotiate a problematic emotional path full of angst and pain before they realise what is truly important to them. A fascinating snapshot of the professional and personal faces of a royal romance, which doesn't stint on angst, drama and romantic sensuality. I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Odir Farouk wanted his estranged wife, Eloise, by his side. But he had to blackmail, bribe or try any other means available to get her by his side. And they gave in to their passion. Now she found that he had never not wanted her. But he was denying his hunger for her. Eloise and Odir seemed unable to ever reach their happy ever after with all the emotional baggage both carried. Yet moving past the grief and sadness they discover new joy and love in their lives.

This inspiring romance gives a reader the message and imparts the lesson that no matter what tragedy befalls you, there is always hope. Highly recommended for all readers of romance. Mar 20, Dottie rated it it was amazing. Odir Faouk is about to become king and has a problem, he needs a wife by his side.

No problem he has a wife but she left him and he needs to get her back. This is a debut book by Pippa Roscoe and after reading you will put her on your follow list. She has put these two people together again and written a story that takes place over 2 days and what an amazing two days they are. Eloise is feisty and Odir is determined and together you get an amazing story that you won't want to end, but end it do Odir Faouk is about to become king and has a problem, he needs a wife by his side.

Eloise is feisty and Odir is determined and together you get an amazing story that you won't want to end, but end it does with a super lovely Epilogue. Loved this story and can't wait for her next. Mar 03, Jemi Fraser added it. This was a fun story - lots of suspense and tension as Odir and Eloise try to figure out their pasts and presents as they work toward a possible future. Feb 03, TashNz rated it really liked it Shelves: A fantastic debut which I really enjoyed.

It was different in a good way and i really liked the build up, plot and back-story. The cover is devine and I adore second chance stories and I think Pippa did a fab job in this element. I wish Pippa the bestest of luck with her release and a wonderful and long career.

But his wife disappeared six months ago after he found her kissing his brother. Eloise had high hopes for her marriage before her husband failed to ever give her a wedding night, avoid her for 2 months and believe her capable of sleeping with his brother. And yet, when he summoned her back at a crucial time she came. But she soon figured out that he didn't call her back because he'd missed her - he still 3. But she soon figured out that he didn't call her back because he'd missed her - he still believed all the horrible things about her.

And when she would have left, he manipulated her staying, not realizing that he was forcing her into a situation she swore she'd never go into. But seeing things from his perspective, Eloise realizes that she can't simply leave him, that he needs her more than ever, even if he'll never love her, because she loves him desperately. First time reading this author and this was pretty good. The part in the blurb, where he "has only 12 hours to win her back" is correct. This is set up as each chapter being another hour in that countdown.

So this whole story takes place over a day, but the characters already have established background and there are plenty of explanations about the past. The downside to this format is that there isn't a whole lot of action happening and we don't get to see their relationship over any length of time. As I said, the background is already established, but the two don't love each other yet On the plus side here is the conflict resolution.

All those other stories where problems are ignored, glossed over and resolutions are over in the snap of a finger - not so here. These two spend hours resolving their conflicts, hashing out their problems, coming clean with their secrets and finally getting all that miscommunication out of the way. It made for decent drama and angst and I definitely felt that their problems were dealt with satisfactorily.

Also loved the epilogue - it was super sweet. Task Force, Book 5. A Romantic Suspense Collection. Winter Blockbuster - 4 Book Box Set. Task Force, Book 3. Ice Lake - 3 Book Box Set. Bachelors in Blue Book 3. How to write a great review. The review must be at least 50 characters long. The title should be at least 4 characters long. But she knows she has to face her fear to overcome it. Only this devilishly handsome rancher is about as friendly as a spur in the backside. The scorching heat between them helps distract Taylor from her fear, but her growing feelings make spending time with him dangerous. In the end, conquering her past may be a small feat compared to conquering this cowboy….

This was an unusual book for the Blaze line, in that it was emotionally intense. Not only did she lose all five of her team members, she also lost the helicopter pilot and the man they were all rescuing. Quinn Monroe was a well-known professional climber, but eighteen months previously his father was killed in an accident on the family ranch while trying to fix a windmill. So you have two lost souls, both suffering terrible, crippling losses and trying to rebuild their lives. I found this book hard to read — not because it was poorly written or the storyline sucked, but because I have recently lost a parent, so I can understand their grief in many ways.

She lets him in, and he puts down his walls, too. Some scenes are very hard to read with their intensity, but do stick it out. This is a really good book worth reading. Seduced in the City. In the loud, vibrant Little Italy community, family is just as important as history. But in the Big Apple, half the fun comes from rewriting history…. The third and final installment of the NYC Bachelors, but can be read as a standalone.

It took me four days to read this, twice as long as is normal for me. There was just nothing that interested me. So Sara and Dominic have known each other since they were kids. Dominic made a typical unkind teenage comment about Sara to his friends that Sara overheard, so a few years later she got revenge by writing a horrible piece about him in a school newspaper or something. Not even the sex scenes were hot. And WTF is with that cover? Sara has an Italian background and is described as having light brown hair. In fact, it would be the most incredibly sexy mistake of their lives. One minute, Cade Douglas, delectable Boston businessman, is signaling for a waitress in the bar of a very fashionable hotel.

She was the one, the one who would fill his senses, save his soul. Cade was certain of it. He was the one, summoning her so casually, so confidently. Ryan was certain of it, of him. Ryan Donnelly teaches managers how to handle their employees by day, but by night she writes romance novels. Hire her a gigolo. When she turns up at the hotel bar, she thinks Cade Douglas is the gigolo Helene hired for her. She tries to stay away from him, but their attraction is too hot and she eventually caves into seeing him again.

Scene Of The Crime: The son had interfered with mail even then -I think it was the late s, but don't hold me to it- it was a crime and the boy roughly aged 8 has admitted to it. I think he has nightmares and the girl tries to help him with that. The hero wants to be with her but doesn't know how to tell her about his situation. I enjoyed this book, but one thing that seems to crop up a lot also happened in this book.

And of course, she does. On a side note, that cover. The female model is clearly blonde, but Ryan is stated several times as being a brunette. It bugs me when the cover is so obviously wrong…. Lieutenant Commander Cade Sullivan is the job. One of them in particular…. Ever since they were kids, Cade has been rescuing Eden Gillespie. But when their sexy trysts are discovered, Eden becomes a bit of a town sensation-and not in a good way. Can she convince her SEAL to risk one last rescue operation? Part of the Uniformly Hot!

Add to bag

Almost a dozen of the Uniformly Hot! Eden Gillespie has been in love with Cade Sullivan, her next door neighbour, for years. Cade has never been particularly close to his father, since the latter was disappointed that Cade did not want to take over the family business and became a SEAL instead, but when Robert has a heart attack Cade reluctantly comes home. He seems to turn up just as Eden gets stuck in a tree or needs rescuing from something, and this time is no exception.

She invites him out for a drink to thank him for helping her out of a tree, and it turns out that Eden gets more than a drink. Man, this is a gossipy town. The more time he spends around Eden, the more he falls for her, despite saying that was never a life he wanted. I really liked Eden, she was a great heroine who refused to kowtow to the snobs and wanted to be seen as more than being an accident-prone klutz.

And you know how it ends — with a happy little epilogue, yay! Especially when he has a wicked glint in his eye…. Attraction mixed with deception is a hot and naughty recipe for disaster. Her baked goods are well known amongst the locals and regular patrons of the store, but she has a chance to boost her profile when Colin Forsyth, a well known food critic, drops by unexpectedly to try her goods. Daisy has other things on her mind: But what she really misses is Jamie, and in the end, she decides to go get him.

Her Sexy Marine Valentine. Mari needs a hand renovating her old Victorian and Brody needs a girlfriend to secure his promotion. I really enjoyed this book. I liked both the leads and I enjoyed their romance. Brody lives across the road from Mari, and when he rescues her from her ex at the supermarket, she makes him dinner. Brody is not a forever kind of guy, and Mari is happy to having great sex. Stunned and angry, she pushes everyone away… including Brody.

She tells him she loves him and then shoves him out the door. But after seducing her hot housepainter Tyler Houston, she might just have to put fantasy 2 and fantasy 3 on hold! When she sees Tyler on the crew painting the house her father left her, she decides to seduce him.

I apologise to all the Rosemarys out there. They have more sex. She spends a miserable month in the first city before hotfooting it back home. Yes, I understood she felt tied down because of caring for the two men, but they were both gone. Her father left her a house and enough money that she never needed to work again. I also found myself cringing a lot throughout this book because the writing was tacky.

The third fantasy was just crass. He deserved better than Darcy. Boone lives under the radar … with a secret that could cost him his life. Book one of the In Too Deep series, but can be read as a standalone. I have mixed feelings about this one. All she has left is her dog, Milo, after the death of her older brother, Nate, seventeen months previously.

He gave her a phone number and told her to call it if she was ever in trouble, so in desperation she rings… only to get a pizzeria. Soon afterwards, Boone turns up. He was in Delta Force with Nate, and once he realises Christie is being stalked, he agrees to help save her life as Nate once saved his. So he starts to train her to defend herself and teaches her how to shoot a gun, all the while ignoring his attraction to her. Theirs was a bit of a strange romance, I found. Christie ran a bit hot and cold — one minute she just had to have sex with Boone or she was going to die, the next she was mad at him for some perceived slight.

She knew something had happened on a mission that Nate, Boone and co did in the Balkans, and Boone reluctantly admits they were all working for some shadow company that sat outside the government, and therefore the law, but with their approval. Christie saw Nate get blown up in a car bomb, so she wants to know what happened in this mission and why her brother had to die. The stalker is caught when he tries to kill Boone and Christie and dies when Nate shoots him, and Christie is forced to leave her life behind and go on the run like the others because now she knows too much and is a target.

One day, a man shows up on her doorstep… and you know who it is. Boone has finally tracked her down and decides that if they both have to live on the run, they may as well do it together. And when her brother applies to become an elite Forest Service firefighter, Fiona hits the roof. Hotshot Wyatt Andrews swore to avoid controlling women like Fiona. And he has no intention of intervening in her family business.

Part of the Hotshot Heroes series, but can be read as a standalone. Lisa Childs writing Blaze books? Matthew is a douchecanoe. Fiona was a child who had no say in it, and as soon as she was old enough she looked out for Matthew. So his childish behaviour was just odd. What did work, though: There was lots and lots of hot sex. If reading lots of hot sex scenes works for you, read this book.
