However, who knew that her meeting with Alex Beaufort and the outcome of that meeting and what ensued was written in the cards. Both Kerri and Alex have history with gamblers — one more positive than the other. Both knew that their time t Romance in the Cards by Kerri Peach Hearts Around The Harbor 2 I am sure that Kerri Lush, journalist, could easily tell you the odds against two people falling in love at first sight and just how much she might be willing to bet for against such an occurrence. Both knew that their time together was limited. Both knew that life is a gamble and that the cards are usually stacked against gamblers.
That said, Kerri and Alex decided to spend time together come what may and thoroughly enjoyed themselves doing so. I found this to be a story of two people finding more than they had bargained on. They may have expected a simple sensual get-together but they ended up with a whole lot more. I enjoyed reading about their time together, their thoughts, their back stories, their time socializing with others and the quirky twist at the end.
Thank you to the author for the ARC — This is my honest review. This was a terrific book! It had all the right amount of hot, I have a good imagination, sweet, angst and flirty! Kerri, the Kiwi and Alex the fellow from Paris have all the chemistry that's needed for a hot romance and they also, are very good at flirting! Will there be a HEA even though, she has a problem? Do we want to know his secret? Kris lives in Wellington, New Zealand and is a great author.
When you read her story's she lets you see, smell, and feel NZ. NZ is beautiful and in this book This was a terrific book! NZ is beautiful and in this book she even takes you to New Caledonia! I love her characters, her descriptions and their feelings! You will feel like you know them! This is her sweet book published with her pen name Kerri Peach.
They are the same story but, you use your imagination more! I've read both and I don't know which, I liked better. I enjoyed this one but, hadn't read the original. I have read and reviewed honestly an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Seduction on the Cards is a sweet and slightly sexy romance with a few twists between two people who have witnessed the negative sides of addiction but find themselves unable to resist the addiction that is each other is this fun and enjoyable read. While the book is relatively light-hearted, there are a few heavier undertones that are dealt with, including addiction, which adds to the drama and keeps readers intrigued from start to finish.

Told from dual perspective, Alex is a wealthy and successful French man who finds himself drawn to the slightly clumsy but feisty journalist interviewing him, Kerri. There is an instant fierce chemistry between the two, one that is teetering on the edge of a hate to love theme. If you are looking for something different to read, definitely give this standalone with a HEA a read! Not my favorite plot, and I really didn't like Alex far into the story. I did like Kerri, but part of her story seems improbable.
The writing style and storytelling makes this a worthwhile book and an enjoyable read. Really enjoyed this, it was different. Different, good but not great. This was a really good book. Loved everything in the book. Both of the main characters come around.
An outrageous flirt and a buttoned-up Frenchman. When journalist Kerrigan Lush is assigned to interview a seriously rich anti-gambling crusader, she imagines a grandfatherly bore with a comb-over.
He discovers that he fell for her. Thank you for your wonderful support! I have enjoyed her other books much more. The signs were all so obvious, looking back. There's wealth and ambition, and plenty of Fifty Shades of Grey red-hot sex - as the reviews assure you. Maria Itliong rated it it was amazing Mar 23,
But Alex Beaufort from Paris has plenty of hair - and enough of everything else to make her mouth water. Irrepressible Kerri suggests a teasing game of strip poker, and they're soon peeling off their layers of self-protection.
Seduction is definitely on the cards - but who's seducing who? And what are the odds? He tells Cody and Cody gets seriously pissed. He leaves Mel and takes a job in another country, so he doesn't have to see her. He discovers that he fell for her. When he returns to his hometown after about a year, he has a big surprise waiting for him. These novellas are brilliantly written!
Drawing the reader in from the first sentence and reluctantly letting go as 'The End' appeared, too quickly. Most certainly, I will read the novels, beginning with the Wellington series. It's been a long time since I truly got lost in a story and in these two, I certainly did. I was most captured by the short masquerade fundraiser and wanting more as it abruptly ended. I like Kris Pearson's writing.
This little naughty novella didn't disappoint. It was light-hearted, funny, flirtatious and of course had the ending I wanted. Ms Pearson presented New Zealand's capital city in all its glory and gave me characters I could believe in. They pleased me and they annoyed me, just in the way real people do. A most satisfying way to spend a wet afternoon after a hard week at work.
There's not too much to this story, but what there was of it was a little predictable. The sex scenes were fairly hot, but the main characters felt somewhat flat. They weren't well developed, and the transition passages from Dubai back to NZ seemed rushed. Perhaps because this is kind of a novella in length at least , Kris Pearson didn't have time to develop too much of anything.
Better prose would have overcome that, but that's not to be in this installment of the "Wicked in Wellington" series. I liked the inclusion of the epilogue, but I must say that including the twin brother was weird.
I thought for sure there would be more to that part of the story otherwise, why bother at all? The only thing it served was to allow the brother to shed more light on Mel's baby-making preparation. I was confused why Cody was so upset and outraged by the reveal.
Melanie was fairly upfront from the start about what she wanted from Cody and what she was willing to give him in return.
Was he truly that angry that she discussed it all with her lawyer before she talked to Cody?!?! Using that as the wedge to temporarily drive the couple apart was so lame and overly contrived. Other than this main point, I thought "Hot for You" was just average. Get to Know Us.
