Our room was clean and surprisingly modern. If you are looking for a "castley " room, this probably won't be the place for you.
But, if you are willing to enjoy the mix of old and new, you'll be happy. We had a castle suite, which was 2 stories.
Bed up top, shower and water closet on the lower level with 2 chairs. TV was upstairs, and all in German, except for the news. We couldn't even get closed captions in English. I suppose you really aren't there for the room, though.
Bathroom is in two parts. First is a water closet. It is narrow, but functional. Second is a shower and sink. Modern tile, hot water, and a great option between rain shower and a more traditional shower feel. Plenty of head room in the loft. Stairs are typical German- narrow and space conscious. The main floor was quite comfortable temperature , while the upper floor was warm.
In our opinion, a fan would have been the perfect addition to help even out the temperature. The staff was fantastic! Super friendly and spoke English fairly well! There is a restaurant on the main floor. Do NOT skip breakfast!! It was worth every euro!
I hope we can come back in the future and see what renovations have occurred since our visit! Until then, wishing you castle dreams and the most perfect croissant to awake to! This place is fantastic! The staff was excellent and attentive! They treated us like royalty. The view from the room was exceptional and breathtaking. Room was very comfortable and clean.
